Easter Hares

Easter is here and I've been busy making hares!
This year I’ve worked hard to really make a hare, not a rabbit. Why? Well I love rabbits but I believe a hare is the true image for Easter as their qualities are very different.

Did you know that hares and rabbits though from the same family they are different species?

Hares are larger, have longer ears and are more solitary and tougher than rabbits.
Newborn hares are fully developed at birth, they are furred, with eyes open and are able to fend for themselves within a few hours of their birth.
They don't build their homes in burrows like rabbits instead they build forms, little nests in the ground.
Independence is a strong quality of a hare.
Hares symbolize rebirth, life, regeneration and resurrection.

Look below if you want to read the Easter hare story.

Happy Easter to you all,
